More about Niq

My journey with yoga began in 2008, but it was an encounter at a local studio a year later that grounded my practice in the Iyengar tradition. Drawn to its precision and structural clarity, I experienced an immediate transformation: I felt lighter, stronger, and more grounded—benefits that remained long after I stepped off the mat.

Yoga quickly became a mirror for self-awareness. An Iyengar teacher was the first to notice my scoliosis, long before an MRI confirmed it. While passive treatments brought only temporary relief, yoga taught me that true balance comes from within, through intentional effort and self-awareness. Over the years, the practice evolved into a bridge to meditation, offering clarity, rest, and resilience amid life’s unexpected challenges.

Before becoming a teacher, I spent years working in education and health, including as an interpreter and translator. Seeking a deeper understanding of my body and mind, I committed to a multi-year mentorship with Nandaji and Kathy Cook. What began as a personal journey of self-discovery naturally grew into a desire to share the practice with others.

For me, yoga extends far beyond physical postures—it is a daily practice that transforms how we live and relate to the world. Regardless of titles or milestones, I will always remain, at heart, a devoted student of yoga and of life.
